App-y!

Apps! Apps! Apps!

Since neither Berthe and I have devices that we could download apps on, we worked together to complete this week's Things. Go teamwork!! We borrowed one of the library's devices (Samsung Galaxy Tablet) and downloaded OverDrive. We downloaded the Hobbit and another book (I don't recall the title), so we could both try returning ebooks. That was pretty simple.

We then explored the BiblioNB app, which we had trouble figuring out at first. On the Samsung, anyway, it really wasn't intuitive and it took us a long time (and another coworker's help) to find where to log on to our accounts. Once we figured it out though, it was fine.

And then we tried scanning a book. At first I read "ISBN" as "library bar code", so it wasn't doing anything. But then I realized that (duh) I was pointing the camera at the wrong thing. And then it worked! There was a *beep* and everything! That is, indeed, pretty neato. High-five for that feature.
